Bluetooth is a short-range wireless technology standard that is being used for exchanging data between fixed and mobile devices over short distances up to 300 meters using UHF radio waves in the ISM bands, from 2.402 GHz to 2.48 GHz, and for building personal area networks
Why do we use it?
We mostly tag our locations, equipment, or inventory to track their whereabouts or retrieve their information. By comparison with the barcode, Bluetooth supports much wider distance scanning (up to 300m), and the scanning can be fully automated. Also, most computers and mobile devices have built-in Bluetooth technology, therefore the equipment cost is low comparing with other wireless technologies

It automates some procedures in your workflow, especially those require manual barcode scanning or data transfer

What is it?
iBeacon is a class of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices that broadcast their identifier to nearby portable electronic devices. The technology enables smartphones, tablets and other devices to perform actions when in proximity to an iBeacon
Why do we use it?
Since iBeacon is a proximity technology, it is extremely accurate indoors. When a device senses an iBeacon in close range via Bluetooth, actions can be immediately taken on the device - without relying on satellite connectivity which is subject to atmospheric and building penetration issues
Also, iBeacon signals can be detected simply by common smart devices such as iPhone or iPad

You can use it to track real-time movement of your valuable assets, inventory or important personnels within an indoor location. It can also assist way-finding and provide location based information in an indoor venue

What is it?
Radio-frequency identification (RFID) uses electromagnetic fields to automatically identify and track tags attached to objects. An RFID system consists of a tiny radio transponder, a radio receiver and transmitter. When triggered by an electromagnetic interrogation pulse from a nearby RFID reader device, the tag transmits digital data, usually an identifying number, back to the reader
Why do we use it?
Unlike printed barcode labels, the RFID tag does not need to be within the line of sight of the reader. The RFID reader also supports bulk reading, so processing time can be much reduced. Also, RFID tags are durable and not easy to worn out or damage like printed barcode labels
How does it help you?
RFID technology can be used alone to track inventory goods within a short distance. To facilitate longer distance tracking, RFID is ideal to be used alongside with Bluetooth / iBeacon technology to cover bigger venues such as warehouse

Why do we use it?
Apart from the dedicated cloud server, we provide an option of using the Apple Mac mini as the database server to serve users including web browsers, Windows, Mac OS, and iOS. As our database server is running Mac OS (Unix based), it is ultra-stable. The Time Machine backup is especially useful and handy as well
